Marissa Webb Honoured as 2019-20 ACAC Women’s Soccer Player of the Year Sponsored by Alberta Soccer

Edmonton, Alberta (Oct. 24, 2019) – The Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) is pleased to announce that Marissa Webb from NAIT has been selected as the 2019-20 ACAC North women's soccer Player of the Year as well as the 2019 ACAC overall Player of the Year.

Marissa helped lead the NAIT Ooks to an 11-1 regular-season record, good enough for 1st place in the North division. Marissa, a 5th year Bachelor of Business Administration student from St. Albert, AB, emerged as the Ooks true leader this season. She finished tied for the ACAC goal-scoring lead with 19 goals, adding 5 assists and registered 57 shots on goal. 
NAIT Ooks women's soccer head coach Carole Holt could not say enough positive things about her 5th-year player.  

"Marissa has been a standout player for our program since her first year. She has continuously worked to be a better player for her teammates and has developed into an outstanding leader both on and off the field. She has been a pleasure to coach, and I can't think of any player more deserving of this award."

Marissa and her NAIT Ooks play this weekend at the 2019 ACAC women's soccer championship hosted by NAIT at Emerald Hills Pavilion in Sherwood Park. The Ooks earned a bye to Saturday's semi-final at 11 am where they will face the winner of the quarter-final match between the King's Eagles and the SAIT Trojans. This prestigious award was presented to Marissa at the 2019 ACAC Soccer Championship banquet held on October 24th at NAIT.
