2025 ACAC Golfers of the Year

Edmonton, AB (September 26, 2025) –

Male Golfer of the Year | HAYDEN PRINS | Concordia Thunder:

 

The Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) is pleased to announce Hayden Prins of the Concordia University of Edmonton Thunder has been selected as the 2025 ACAC Men’s Golfer of the Year.

Prins put together an exceptional season that showcased his talent and consistency across every stage of competition. He opened the year in record-breaking fashion at Regional #1, firing a 66 (-6) in the first round—the lowest score ever recorded by a Thunder golfer—on his way to the individual title. At Regional #2, hosted at Lynx Ridge, he tied for first place. Prins capped off his campaign with a silver medal performance at the ACAC Golf Championships, carding rounds of 73, 68, and 75 at Alberta Springs in Red Deer.

“Hayden has established himself as one of the top golfers in the ACAC, and his results this season speak for themselves,” said Concordia Athletic Director Nate MacLellan. “He continues to raise the standard for our program, and we are so proud of the way he represents Concordia on and off the course.”

 Now in his third year, Prins is pursuing a Bachelor of Arts degree at Concordia. He was previously recognized as the Thunder Athletics Rookie of the Year at the 2023–24 Blue & Gold Athletics Banquet, and his growth since that time has been remarkable, delivering on the promise he showed early in his career.


Female Golfer of the Year | LAURYN PSUTKA | Concordia Thunder:

The Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) is pleased to announce Lauryn Psutka of the Concordia University of Edmonton Thunder has been selected as the 2025 ACAC Women’s Golfer of the Year.

Psutka capped off her outstanding season by winning the individual women’s gold medal at the 2025 ACAC Golf Championships, hosted at Alberta Springs in Red Deer. Over the three rounds of championship play, she posted scores of 77, 81, and 77 to secure the top spot on the podium. Her performance was the culmination of a season filled with consistency and growth, highlighted by a first-place finish at Regional #1 hosted at Mill Woods Golf Club and a runner-up finish at Regional #2 at Lynx Ridge.

“Lauryn has grown tremendously as a golfer during her time at Concordia, and it has been incredible to see her development both on and off the course,” said Concordia Athletic Director Nate MacLellan. “She is a leader for our program and a fantastic representative of Thunder Athletics.”

 A fourth-year student-athlete from St. Albert, Alberta, Psutka is completing her Bachelor of Management degree this spring. With her ACAC Championship win, she will represent the Thunder and the conference at the CCAA Golf Nationals, hosted by the Medicine Hat College Rattlers at Desert Blume Golf Course in Medicine Hat, Alberta.
