2022 RECAP:

Recapping last year's ACAC championship hosted by the Red Deer Queens, two ACAC teams secured their tickets to the CCAA National Championship in Nanaimo, BC. The Lakeland Rustlers emerged victorious, claiming the ACAC banner after an intense battle against their northern rivals, the Augustana Vikings. The final match showcased the incredible talent and passionate fan support that electrified the Gary W. Harris Canada Games Centre. While the Rustlers were the heavy favorites, the Vikings had previously been the only team to defeat them during the 2023 season, adding to the intensity of the matchup.

Meanwhile, the hosts Red Deer Queens utilized their home court advantage to secure the bronze medal in a hard-fought 3-2 match against the Lethbridge Kodiaks. Jaiden Ferguson delivered a remarkable performance with 25 kills, while Jamie Brown, the ACAC WVB Player of the Year, contributed 15 kills.

At the 2023 CCAA National Championship, the unstoppable Lakeland Rustlers continued their dominance, claiming a highly impressive gold medal by winning nine out of ten sets in the entire tournament. The Augustana Vikings put up a valiant effort but fell short in their Bronze semi-final matchup.

The ACAC showcased its excellence at the 2023 CCAA National stage, with Jenay Varga of the Lakeland Rustlers being named the Championships Most Valuable Player. The Rustlers' coach, Austin Dyer, received the prestigious Coach of the Year award. Jana Laing of Lakeland was named to the Championship All-star First Team, while Kaylie Lueck (LAKE), Shae Boyes, and Sarah Dedrick of the Augustana Vikings were honored with Second Team recognition. Furthermore, Jenay Varga (LAKE), Jamie Brown (LC), and DJ Molle (UAA) were named CCAA All-Canadians, further highlighting the talent and skill within the ACAC.
