CALGARY, ALTA., (March 2, 2018) — The St. Mary's University Lightning defeated the Lakeland College Rustlers 67-49 in their semifinal game Friday evening at the Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) Women's Basketball Championship at SAIT.
Montana Romeril scored 22 points while teammate Megan Trisevic added 14 points to lead the Lightning to victory. Kaitlyn Tonita responded with 12 points in a losing effort for the Rustlers.
Trisevic was named the Earl's Kitchen and Bar Player of the Game for St. Mary's. Shania Magnusson was named Lakeland's Player of the Game.
The victory sends St. Mary's to the championship final tomorrow evening at 8pm. The Rustlers falls to the bronze medal game at 5pm.
