Clippers Claim Bronze
In the ACAC Men's Volleyball Bronze Medal game, the King's University Eagles competed against the Briercrest College Clippers. It was an energetic game as both teams left it all on the court as they concluded their season battling for bronze. In the end, the Clippers took home bronze with a 3-2 win.
It was a close first set between the Eagles and the Clippers as they were in it to win. About halfway through the set, the Clippers were able to pull ahead by six points. The Eagles weren't allowing them to win that handily as they worked to close the gap. The Clippers kept pushing and ultimately took the set 25-19.
The closeness of the first set carried on into the second set. The Eagles made their mark in the second set as they gained an early lead over the Clippers. The Clippers didn't back down as they worked to close the gap. An intense rally near the end of the set gave both teams more life as the Clippers continued to further close the gap to 21-21. The game's closeness continues at the end of the set as they have to play some extra points. The Eagles, in the end, were able to take the set 27-25.
The third set proves to be no different than the first two as the game stays close. The Eagles are able to gain a four-point lead over the Clippers early in the set. The Clippers battled back in an effort to close the gap and gain a lead of their own. The Clippers come up short in their goal as the Eagles take the third set 25-19.
In the fourth set, the close battle continues between the Eagles and the Clippers. The Clippers weren't backing down and were able to get a four-point lead near the beginning of the set. The Eagles battled back, working towards taking home bronze. The Clippers force the game to a fifth set as they take the fourth 25-18.
The closeness continues between the Clippers and the Eagles in the fifth and final set. The Clippers are able to have a two-point lead early in the set. The Eagles, however, continue to challenge the Clippers in every play to tie the Clippers numerous times. The Clippers win the set 18-16.
The players of the game were #1, Kaiden Aceron from the Eagles, and #11, Karym Coleman from the Clippers.
