A Tie Only a Second Overtime Could Break-NAIT Wins

Camrose, AB - It's always an exciting night at EnCana Arena when the NAIT Ooks are in town. The Community always looks forward to the game intensity offered by Ooks-Vikings matchups and tonight was no exception.

The Vikings opened scoring at 8:35 in the first period with a goal by Travis Mayan. Jarid Hauptman of the Ooks answered to tie it 1-1 with 30 seconds left in the first period.

The second period saw the Ooks' Matt McNeil score their second goal very early at 2:56. Near the end of the second period the Vikings' Cody Young (POG) scored their second goal at 14:22. The intermission saw a tied game.

Third period action included 2 goals by each team.The Vikings started off better, scoring 2 goals in a row. The first at 3:44 by Jimmy Sheehan and the second at 8:18 by Carter Danczak. The Ooks scored their first goal of the period at 12:36 by Brandon Ralph. The third period was looking like it was going to Augustana but than NAIT scored a second goal at 17:45 by #21 Braydon Harris, once again tying the game.

Scoreless after one overtime period, the three-on-tree second overtime game winning goal was scored by #11 Thomas Foster of the NAIT Ooks. This was a very close game with a final score of 5-4 for NAIT.

Shots were 43 for NAIT and 23 for Augustana. Players of the Game were Forward #91 Cody Young, a second year business economics major, for the Vikings and Defence #27 Jordan Davies, also a second year Business Administration major, for the Ooks, presented by one of the Vikings biggest, yet tiniest fans!
