GPRC Host Double Header Against NAIT

Wolves welcomed the NAIT Ooks for the final game of 2019. Jeremy Pynn opens the scoring with a 3 point make, followed up by a 2 point layup. The Wolves took command of the game early and lead the Ooks at the half way point of the first quarter 12-7. Noe Tchomo draws a foul with 4 minutes left and connects on 1. Wolves go up 16-12. However not for long as Noe finds the back of a 3 point make to make it 21-14 Wolves. NAIT answers back with a deep 3 from #23 Sean-Michael Clancey. In the final few seconds the Ooks tie it up at 21 before #13 Daria Goertzen sinks a field goal to win the first quarter 23-21.

Jeremy Pynn will start the quarter with a foul, the Ooks couldn't convert, went 0-2 from the line. #24 Saxon Joyes will hit a 3 point shoot for the first point of the quarter. Manny IIoka comes up with a couple big buckets and makes the score 34-25 Wolves. Wolves got up by 11 points before NAIT needed a time out. The Ooks respond with 5 quick points and GPRC will do the same. The buzzer goes and the Wolves are up 39-32.

The Ooks were alive out of the half time break and scored 3 quick hoops to close the gap to 1. And one more to go up 1 and force the Wolves to a timeout. The NAIT defense was tough as the Wolves only found a way to score 3 points half way through the quarter. Both teams battled to the buzzer of the 3rd and score is 59-49 Ooks.

The battled continued through a tough 4th quarter. The Ooks pulled away and the Wolves couldn't find a way to close the game. The Ooks come out on top 83:65,

Player of the game for the NAIT Ooks was #8 Jamal Hinds with 19 points and 7 rebounds and for the GPRC Wolves #5 Duressa Essa with 11 points and 11 rebounds.

Both teams will be back in action January 2020.
