Deanna Kuan Honoured as the 2016-17 ACAC Women’s Soccer Rookie of the Year
Edmonton, October 27, 2016 – The Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) is pleased to announce that SAIT Trojans women's soccer player Deanna Kuan has been selected as the 2016/17 ACAC Women's Soccer Rookie of the Year.
Kuan, from Edmonton, Alta., is one of the key reasons why the SAIT Trojans women's soccer team went from zero to seven wins in just one season. The midfielder is one of the most talented and intelligent players on the field at any given time, and plays the game with a calm, but ferocious, demeanor. All year, she provided excellent support and direction on the defensive side, while starting lightning quick counter-attacks with accurate passes up front.
Whether it is in games or at practice, Kuan plays the role of both student and teacher to perfection. She communicates well with her teammates, and often provides direction to them no matter the positions. We are very proud of her accomplishments this season.
