Kassy Jajczay Honoured as the 2016-17 Women’s Soccer Player of the Year
Edmonton, October 24th, 2016 – The Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference is pleased to announce that Kassy Jajczay has been selected as the 2016-17 Women's Soccer Player of the Year.
The NAIT Ooks women's soccer team finished the regular season in 1st place in the North Division with a record of 9-0-1. Kassy, a 4th year Emergency Management student from Edmonton, AB, had a tremendous season. She led the ACAC with 16 goals this season including 5 game winning goals and scored in every league game.
Head Coach of the Women's NAIT Ooks Soccer Team, had the following to say about her student-athlete. "Kassy is a game player - simple as that. She can obviously score goals but can set them up as well. She's extremely competitive which motivates her for every minute of every game to keep working. She has led by example and has been such a pleasure to work with. We are so proud that she chose our program to be a part of."
Kassy and the NAIT Ooks women's soccer team will play Saturday in the ACAC championship semi-final against the winner of SAIT and Concordia who play in Friday's quarter-final. The championships are hosted by Concordia University Edmonton at the Clearview Recreation Centre Soccer Field in Edmonton, AB.
