GRANDE PRAIRIE, AB., (Sept. 21, 2019) - Concordia University of Edmonton's (CUE) Leonard Cheeso won his third race in the last three weeks on Saturday with a decisive victory in ACAC Running Room Grand Prix #3 in Grande Prairie.

Under sunny and breezy conditions, Cheeso established an early lead and never looked back, finishing the 8.25 km course in a time of 26:18, nearly 3 minutes ahead of second-place finisher Micho Green of the University  of Alberta – Augustana Campus (UAA).

The women's 6.2 km race was a much closer affair. The top ACAC runner was CUE's Ana Zulic who clocked at time of 26:27, seven seconds better than runner-up Reese Bendiksen from UAA.

The UAA Vikings captured the men's team title, while the CUE Thunder were victorious in the women's team competition.

The ACAC Running Room Grand Prix race is the same course that the 2019 CCAA XC Running Championships will be contested over on November 9.  Feedback from the athletes and coaches who took part on the weekend indicated that the course is tough but interesting.
