NWP Wolves host TKU Eagles
The Northwestern Polytechnic Wolves host The Kings University Eagles in their final home game of the season.
Starting off the first set the Eagles take the first two points of the match. With an out-of-bounds call, the Wolves take their first point, with #1 Seirra LaValley serving for the Wolves. TKU takes an early lead 6-3. The Wolves call a time out as they trail the Eagles 7-12. Coming back after the timeout the Wolves #10 Katie Nashim takes the kill. As two touches get called on the Wolves, the Eagles lead the set 16-9. Finishing an exciting rally, Katie Nashim rises up for a Wolves kill. The Kings University Eagles lead 19-12 as the Wolves call a second timeout. Returning onto the court, the Wolves take the next point. Into the game for TKU is #2 Lauryn Draker. Into the game for NWP is Wolves #5 Robyn Alexandruk. With a strong first set, the Eagles take the set 25-15.
Into the second set, the Wolves #1 Sierra LaValley takes the first point with a solid block. After an exiting rally, the Eagles keep the game 1 apiece. Calling a timeout early in the set, the Wolves trail the game 1 to the Eagles 5. Rallying to extend their lead, the Eagles are 12-4 in the second set. Substituting into the game for the Wolves is #12 Helaina Zeyha. Another substitution for the Wolves is #16 Jessie Kurek. With the game led by the Eagles 15-7, Avery Hucker is substituted in. As the Eagles collect another point, #15 McKenna Schrader is sent into the game for TKU. With another kill by Helaina Zeyha, the Wolves take back to back to back points to bring the game to 23-13 for the Eagles. With a decisive second set, the Eagles take it 25-14.
Getting the third set underway, the Eagles take the first 2 points. Not to be outdone, the Wolves ensure their spot on the 3rd set scoreboard. After an exciting rally the Wolves come out on top of it with a block from #10 Katie Nashim. With a big block by Helaina Zeyha, the Wolves keep the Eagles in sight with a score 5-6 for the Eagles. With an excellent rally finished, the Eagles lead 12-6 as the Wolves call a timeout. TKU takes the first point after the timeout. Answering the challenge on the next play has the Wolves colleting their 7th point of the set with Eagles at 14. Another large rally sees the Eagles finishing it with the kill to lead 20-9. As the Wolves hit double digits, Robyn Alexandruk is in the set for the Wolves. As the play hits the net, the Wolves continue to serve with the score 23-14 for the Eagles. With the final kill, the Eagles take the match in three sets with a set 3 score of 25-15.
