Lions Win Quick Match vs Rattlers
After losing 4 of their last 5, and their last 3 home games, the Lions had too many weapons in their arsenal firing on all cylinders tonight for the Rattlers to handle. Ambrose swept Medicine Hat, 3 – 0, keeping the Rattlers below 20 points each set.
Everything was clicking for the Lions, as offensively they totaled 37 kills (Willow Lewinton hitting a team high 12) while defensively, 17 digs by both Journey Flewell and Makayla Beisal resulted in the Rattlers only having 6 kills in the first set and a lonely 3 in the 2nd.
Right from the first serve the Lions took control and didn't look back. After playing a match this year in Medicine Hat where the Lions won the first two sets and ended up losing 3 in a row after that, their killer instant did not let this happen a second time. Throughout the match Coach Kubinec stayed calm through his player's efforts not calling a timeout all game. Thanks to a lack in stoppages, in its entirety the game took only 71 min.
It's hard not to think however that this scrappy Medicine Hat squad won't come out with a better effort in front of their home crowd tomorrow night. Ambrose will have to be sharp tomorrow if they want to come away with a 2nd straight victory.
