Pamela Xu Honoured as 2017-18 ACAC Women’s Volleyball North Rookie of the Year

Edmonton, AB (February 22, 2018) – The Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) is pleased to announce that Pamela Xu of The King's University Eagles has been selected as the 2017-18 ACAC Women's Volleyball Rookie of the Year sponsored by Volleyball Alberta.

As a first-year player on the King's Eagles, Pam has made a tremendous impact. As stated by the Eagles Head Coach Grace Scott, "Pam's work ethic is one driven by a love for the game and for her teammates. She continuously pushes herself and the team to improve, and takes every aspect of feedback into consideration. Pam is not only an encouragement and inspiration to her teammates, she embodies each and every day what it means to be an Eagle through her character and discipline."

Pam set for both her high school team at Jasper Place High School (4A gold medalists, 2016) and the U18 Pandas Volleyball Club (division 1 gold medalists, 2017). Ranked second in the north and fifth in the league for assists per set (7.80), Pam is also a force to be reckoned with on defense. In addition, she leads the league in setter kills at 58. Pam's athleticism is unmatched as she runs the Eagles offense with precision and determination, always desiring to give her best for her team.

This prestigious award was presented to Pamela Xu at the 2017-18 ACAC Women's Volleyball Championship Ceremony held on February 22 at the University of Alberta-Augustana Campus.
