Another 5 sets

The Medicine Hat Rattlers Women's Volleyball team hosted The Lethbridge Kodiaks in a packed house of over 400 fans. The first set got off to a very inauspicious start, with both teams committing early errors to lose points. Lethbridge seemed to find their groove faster and pulled out to a 6-point lead.  This was too much to come back from for Medicine Hat as the Kodiaks finished off the set strong to win 25-20

Lethbridge came out in the second firing again. Kodiak setter Ashleigh Noel lead a strong offensive push committing only one setting error in the first two sets. Left side Hitter Kristine Ward also contributed heavily with a strong performance. Medicine Hat made a switch in the setter position between games and brought in Rachel Stewart. Lethbridge took advantage of a few miss cues from the Rattler offence and won the second set handily 25-18.

In the third set the Rattlers offence finally seemed to click. Captain Amber Stigter stepped up big with a big game of kills to wake up a lethargic offense. With the rest of the team contributing the rattlers flipped the score from the last set winning 25-18.

It was more of the same in the fourth set. This time, Kennedy Lewis stepped up for the rattlers making 5 kills in a row. This allowed the rattlers to get out ahead and maintain their lead. The third set finished with the rattlers on top 25-20 forcing a 5th set.

In the fifth set both teams traded serves up to 13 all when the Kodiaks Served out the game to win 15-13 and 3 sets to 2. It was a hard-fought game by both teams with exceptional play throughout.
