Home opener loss for the Ambrose Lions

Calgary, AB - Despite Ambrose controlling the ball off the start Lethbridge dominated possession in the first half, opening the scoring early with a goal from #3 Megan Morrison. The Lethbridge Kodiaks carried that momentum and despite some impressive saves from the Ambrose keeper, the Kodiaks scored twice more by the 17-minute mark with markers from #17 Olivia Depasquale and #15 Jayna Timinski. The pace of the game slowed down for a while, until a second goal of the half for Timinski at minute 37. Ashley Sazalski potted the fifth goal with under 2 minutes to play in the opening half.

Lethbridge opened the second frame in control, and despite a couple more impressive saves from goaltender J. Watson, Kodiak's #13 Nikki Stahl continued the scoring in the 49th minute. Ambrose's struggles would continue as #10 would briefly leave the game due to injury at the 50-minute mark, forcing goalie (name) to make a couple more saves. Despite her efforts, Lethbridge would once again score at minute 65 from #14 Montana Rouselle. The score would remain 7-0 after Ambrose fended off a free kick from just outside the box at minute 75.
