Kayla Michaels Honoured as 2015-16 ACAC Women’s Soccer Player of the Year
The Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference is pleased to announce that Kayla Michaels has been selected as the 2015-16 Women's Soccer Player of the Year.
For the second year in a row, Kayla Michaels has topped the ACAC scoring with a league leading 18 goals in 10 games. This moves her into 6th spot of the Conference's career scoring leaders which is an incredible accomplishment after only two seasons. Michaels is a dynamic player who has been consistent throughout her time at NAIT, scoring in all but two of the last 20 league games. This is a testament to her hard work and commitment to her teammates. She is not only a natural goal scorer but she also has great game awareness which allows her to create many opportunities for herself and her teammates. Carole Holt, Head Coach of the Women's NAIT Ooks Soccer Team, had the following to say about her student athlete. "She has set up more than her share of goals this year in addition to the ones she scored herself. She is a selfless player and a great teammate. She has worked very hard for what she has achieved and she has always done it with a smile on her face. She has led by example and has been such a pleasure to work with. We are so proud that she chose our program to be a part of."
