Gold medal match SAIT Trojans vs KC Huskies

Finishing in first place SAIT Trojans take on the second place Keyano Huskies in the ACAC Gold Medal match. SAIT starts the match off with high pressure on Keyano's keeper. Utilizing an open opportunity trojans #9 Meaghan Wiebe SAIT gets on the board. Continuing with the momentum from the first goal #13 Amber Meyers can set up #22 Teghan Mendes to make that 2-0. Keyano feeling the pressure of the game increases their defensive play, despite their efforts #11 Mackenzie Georgsen passes from the corner to #19 Nicole Charlton and she lands it in the top corner making that a 3-point lead. A few moments before the end of the first Huskies #20 Nathalie Andersson is able to get her team on the board shortening the lead to only 2 points. At the end of the first half Keyano trails 3-1.

Heading into the second Keyano is trailing by 2 and is in need of a quick turn around and with a free kick made by SAITS #17 Jordynn McPherson, the lead lengthens. But #20 Nathalie Andersson is able to get her team on the board in hopes of a spark. Which with that momentum of getting a goal her team is able to use that to set up #13 Marissa Mestre making it a 4-2 game for SAIT. As SAIT continues to keep their lead with a pass from #4 Harleen Singh #11 Mackenzie Georgsen is able to make it a 3-point lead going into the last five minutes. SAIT is able to hold onto the lead and they win.
