The SAIT Trojans put together a methodical effort to out-pace the Lakeland Rustlers 5-2 to open the 2019 ACAC Futsal Championships. The Trojans' Mataya Blakney scored with 10 minutes remaining in the first half to give her team a 2-0 lead at the break. Blakney then added her second of the game three minutes into the second half to put the match out of reach. SAIT led 5-0 with 17 minutes left in the game, before the Rustlers added two goals late to break the shutout. The Trojans are now 1-0, while the Rustlers fall to 0-1.
