Verča Kuželová Honoured as 2018-19 ACAC Women’s Hockey Player of the Year & Top Scorer of the Year

EDMONTON, AB (March 8, 2019) – The Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) is pleased to announce Verča Kuželová of the NAIT Ooks has been selected as the 2018-19 ACAC Women's Hockey Player of the Year and Top Scorer of the Year.

Verča Kuželová led the NAIT Ooks to a 19-2-3 record and first place finish in the ACAC women's hockey regular season standings. Kuželová led the ACAC in scoring with 13 goals and 13 assists for a total of 26 points in 24 games. On top of offensive ability, Verča has proven to be pretty durable as well; she holds the ACAC record for most regular season games played in ACAC women's hockey history with 116.

Verča has been a dynamic player for us all season long. She continuously finds different ways to score, making her such an exciting player to watch. Her relentless puck pursuit has been huge for us this season. She's the type of player that I wouldn't want to play against," said NAIT head coach, Stef Thomson. 

Verča is a 5th-year business administration student from Prague, Czech Republic.

These prestigious awards were presented to Verča Kuželová at the first game of the 2019 ACAC Women's Hockey Championship held on March 8 at NAIT.
