ACAC Bronze Medal Game - St. Mary's University Lightning

The SAIT Trojans take on St. Mary's University Lightning tonight at 5 pm competing for the bronze medal at Lakeland College. 

The first quarter was full of action, with both south teams battling it out for the ACAC Bronze medal. The Lightning took a solid early lead from a few set offensive plays. The Trojans struggled to score in the first quarter and could not pick it up on offence ending the quarter 10-24 for the Lightning.

The Lighting continued to attack in the second quarter, having many points off of fast-break opportunities by Jaiden Hanson, who was hustling on offence and defence. The Trojans continued to struggle on offence, while the Lightning used this to their advantage to take an even more substantial lead, ending the half, 22-47. 

Entering the third quarter, the Trojans attempted to rally to bring them back into the game. However, the Lightning executed mainly on offence, utilizing their post player, Macyn Morning Bull. The Trojans, unfortunately, fell short of closing in the game, finishing the third quarter, 46-74. 

In the final quarter of play, the Lightning used their set offence and fast-break opportunities to further their lead. With the Trojans having multiple starters in foul trouble, they struggled to get many offensive options early in the quarter. The Trojans never recovered from their thirty-point deficit and finished the game  66-95 for the Lightning. Congrats to St. Mary's University Lightning for taking home the ACAC Bronze medal! The Players of the game were #7 off of the SAIT Trojans and #10 off of the St. Mary's Lightning.
