The Ooks Fall Short to Lakeland Rustlers

The NAIT Ooks women's basketball team faced the Lakeland Rustlers on Saturday night. The Rustlers won the game 69-58.

The Ooks #10, Lucy Wilde, started the game by finishing a layup off of the tipoff. The first quarter was a close one as both teams battled for rebounds. The game began physical as both teams were in bonus at the end of the quarter. The Rustlers led at the end of the first quarter 23-18.

The Rustlers came out strong in the second quarter scoring three baskets before the Ooks got their first one. The game's physicality continued with the half ending with the Rustlers holding their lead with a score of 39-30.

#6 Carly McHarg made a baseline 3-pointer after receiving a solid pass from #8, Aliyah Johnson, for the Ooks. At the end of the third quarter, the Rustlers continued their lead with 58-39.

The Ooks started the fourth quarter strong on both defensive and offensive ends of the court, getting within 8 points of the Rustlers. At the end of the game, the Ooks lose to the Rustlers 58-69.

The players of the game were #6 Carly McHarg from the Ooks and #5 Tori Duggan from the Rustlers.
