WBB| Kodiaks Held their Ground Against the Olds Broncos

November. 25, 2021- The Kodiaks looked to dominate their final home game before the Christmas holidays against the Olds College Broncos.

The Kodiaks were hot coming into the game spending lots of time in the attacking zone while creating offense inside the key. Broncos Amelia Furst was hot in the first quarter picking up 8 points; nevertheless, the Kodiaks remained on top finishing the quarter up 21-17.

The Kodiaks managed to hold and progress their lead in the second quarter. There was no stopping them as they dominated the Broncos' side of the court. Kirsten and Matlin from the Kodiaks both made themselves known as they received 8 points each for their team. Kodiaks maintained on top with a score of 44-32 heading into the third quarter.

The Broncos were prepared to take control in the third quarter as they attained 5 points before the Kodiaks had time to react. Nevertheless, the Kodiaks held their own, not letting the Broncos take full control finishing out the third set.

The Broncos began creeping up on the Kodiaks, closing the gap, trying to secure their spot-on top. However, the Kodiaks were too stubborn to let them take the lead, doing everything possible to keep their momentum above their opponents. The Kodiaks succeeded, finishing the game off with a score of 74-70.

#5 Amelia Furst for the Broncos dominated for her team receiving an overall 14 points for her team. While #11 Kirsten Berwegan led the Kodiaks with a total of 20 points.
