On senior night, the Lightning women sealed the victory with a 74-73 victory, by free-throws from Anderson in the last 9 seconds of the game. A hard fought game throughout, the Lightning led 22-21 after the first quarter, and 41-36 at halftime, with the first half being high paced and basket for basket. In the second half, the Red Deer College Queens put together a strong comeback, even taking the lead late in the fourth quarter. But a foul call with 10 seconds left with Anderson at the line on her senior night, she sealed the victory for the Lightning. The Lightning were led by ACAC Player of the Game Juhee Anderson, who had 18 points and 6 rebounds, and the Queens were led by Sandra Garcia-Bernal with her 13 points and 11 rebounds. The Lightning improve to 20-5 on the season heading into playoffs, while the Queens hopes at playoffs end tonight. The Queens and Lightning will match up again tomorrow night for the final regular season of the game in Red Deer.
