Eagles take tight home opener over the Thunder

TKU Eagles opened their 2019-2020 basketball season at home versus the Concordia Thunder. The Eagles looked to start their season off strong versus a Thunder team they have not beaten in six years.

In the first quarter, the Thunder came out quick scoring early and often. But the Eagles were to settle things down and claw their way back, as the quarter ended tied at 16. In the second, the Thunder hot, as they opened up a thirteen point lead on the Eagles. But it was more the same for the Eagles, as they climbed their way back, to cut down the deficet as they were still trailing 28-34. In the third, King's looked to have regrouped as they started the quarter off strong, as they caught the Thunder off guard. TKU were able to go on one more late run, as they ended the third head by the 2 points, 49-47. In the fourth, the Eagles began to pull away. The Eagles were able to play keep the Thunder at bay, as they continued to pull away, and finished the game with a final score 73-65.

The Eagles will try to double up on the Thunder, as they play each other, October 18th at Concordia at 6pm.
