OLDS, Alta. - The Olds College Broncos completed a weekend sweep on home court, defeating the Ambrose University Lions 85-58 at the Ralph Klein Centre on Saturday.

Brittney Thibeaux paced the Broncos (3-1) with 22 points and seven rebounds, while Michaela Allen-Gullion and Kyla Adams added 15 points apiece for Olds College, who shot 46.9 per cent from the field.

Daniella Matich led Ambrose (1-3) with 12 points, while Munroe Brothers added 11 points off the bench, and Paige Goertzen completed a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds.

The Broncos again got off to a fast start, though Ambrose closed the gap late in the first quarter, cutting the Olds College lead to 20-13.

Olds College kept its foot on the gas in the second quarter, extending its lead to 48-32 at halftime, then turned up the defensive pressure considerably in the third quarter, holding Ambrose to just nine points to open up a 71-41 gap heading into the fourth.

The Broncos and Lions will next hit the court on Friday, Nov. 2 at 6 p.m.; the Broncos will host the Briercrest College Clippers, while Ambrose will head across Calgary to take on the SAIT Trojans.
