For her first three years of post-secondary basketball, Fort McMurray's Danielle MacLellan suited up for the Keyano Huskies.
For the 2018-2019 season though, the 5-foot-11 forward/centre took her hoop talents to Edmonton enrolling in Bachelor of Arts at Concordia University of Edmonton (CUE).
The CUE Thunder rolled into Fort McMurray tonight to face off against the host Huskies at the Syncrude & Sport Wellness Centre's Canadian National Resources Ltd. Gymnasium.
MacLellan, matched up against Huskies' veteran 5-foot-10 post Moiyan Toure, scored the first two baskets of the game to spark her team to a 72-60 victory.
She would finish with eight points and nine rebounds in 21 minutes.
Controlling the Thunder offence, guard Morgan Dool would earn Player of the Game honours for the Edmonton squad, dropping a game-high 25 points to go along with four steals while playing all but three minutes of the game.
Huskies Player of the Game was Toure with 21 points and 14 boards.
Augusta Kievisaite added 19 points.
Averaging nearly 20 three-point attempts in their first four ACAC games of the season, the Huskies only took 10 in this match.
