The Lakeland Rustlers Women's Basketball team defeated the King's Eagles 79-60 Friday night in Lloydminster.
The Rustlers came out strong, pushing the ball and being aggressive in the first quarter. The Rustlers showed strong play on both sides of the ball in the quarter and led 29-8 after one. The Eagles switched up their defense in the second quarter, forcing the Rustlers to play in the half court. The Rustlers eventually figured out the Eagles defense and would go on to lead 49-17 at the half. The second half was all Eagles as they would outwork the Rustlers on both ends of the floor. The Eagles scored a quick five-point to open the half, before going on to score 24 in the quarter. The Rustlers were able to adjust to the Eagles defense, but the Eagles rebounded the ball well and were able to score. After three quarters, the Rustlers led 67-41. In the fourth, the Rustlers struggled on the defensive end as the Eagles rebounded and attacked well. The Rustlers early lead was enough, as they held on to win 79-60.
