On January 25, the King's University Eagles Men's basketball team took on the University of Alberta Augustana Vikings at 8:00 p.m. in the King's University gymnasium. 

 

In the first set, the Vikings came out strong, with contributions from multiple players. Owen Rasmuson led the charge with two kills, while Devon Nazarchuk added three kills and an ace. Ethan Yodagawa also chipped in with one ace and one kill, and Boris Kuljanin had two aces. Jacob Christensen and Caelum Hartman each added a kill, helping the Vikings maintain a steady offensive push. For the Eagles, Tino Kwatara was solid with one kill and two blocks, and Spencer Mayerle added two kills and an ace. However, despite some strong individual efforts from the Eagles, the Vikings held on to win the set 25-19.

 

In the second set, the Vikings continued their momentum into the second set. Devon Nazarchuk had one kill and one ace, while Owen Rasmuson recorded two kills. Ethan Yodagawa was impressive with three kills and one block, and Jacob Christensen contributed two kills. The Eagles saw solid efforts from Spencer Mayerle, who had three kills and one block, and Hudson Forsberg, who added one kill and one block. Despite the Eagles' strong defense and attack, the Vikings won the set 25-18, taking a 2-0 lead in the match.

 

In the third set, The Vikings completed their sweep, winning 25-20. Devon Nazarchuk was a standout player, contributing two aces, and Owen Rasmuson added another kill to his tally. Boris Kuljanin had a great kill, and Caelum Hartman recorded a kill and a block. For the Eagles, Tyler Fredlund led the offense with two kills, and Brodie Schutz, Landen Roznowski, and Dean Larsen each contributed one kill. However, despite some strong play from the Eagles, the Vikings' balanced offense and solid defense proved too much to overcome.


With high liveliness in the gym's atmosphere, both teams did a fantastic hardworking job in today's game.
