MVB| Rustlers Bounce Back to Take 3 Straight Sets to Extend Win Streak to 4

January 14, 2023- The Kodiaks looked for an undefeated weekend after a 3-0 sweep over the Keyano Huskies as they faced off against the Lakeland Rustlers who are hot on a 3-game winning streak.

The Rustlers and Kodiaks kept it very close throughout the 1^st set not letting either side gain too large of a lead. The Kodiaks stayed ahead of Lakeland most of the set with the Kodiaks constantly putting up an unbreakable wall not letting the Rustlers spikes get through but due to some unlucky bounces, the Rustlers were able to put up some squeaky points late to push the set to extra points, but the Kodiaks would prevail to take the 1^st set 27-25.

The Kodiaks struggled throughout the set as things just did not seem to go their way and the Rustlers took advantage of that which their strong defense at the net to keep Lakeland ahead, this caused the Kodiaks to fall behind giving Lakeland the opportunity to maintain their lead and stay ahead which would tie the match up at a set a piece taking the 2^nd 25-18.

The Kodiaks continued to struggle as their offensive production was not where it typically is resulting in the Rustlers taking advantage of their weaknesses which would keep Lakeland ahead of the Kodiaks throughout the set securing the 2^nd set for the Rustlers to go up 2-1 with a set score of 25-19.

The Kodiaks began to find their groove again in the 4^th but still struggled to keep up with an offensively dominant Rustlers team which was led by Rustlers #13 Mason Short who led the charge with 9 kills in the 4^th set with 19 on the night which would go on to be a huge factor in Lakelands success as they were able to stay ahead of the Kodiaks and take the set 25-19 and win the match 3 sets to 1.
