MVB| Kodiaks Stay on Top after Defeating Trojans

January 7th, 2022- Kodiaks jumped into their first home action of 2023 against their rivals the SAIT Trojans, hoping to start off the second semester with a bang by continuing their first-place standing in the south division and progressing their winning streak.

Kodiaks started the first set off slow, allowing the Trojans to pull ahead to an early lead as our men were stuck trying to play catch up and gather their composure. SAIT fought hard to keep the set close, but the Kodiaks managed to claw their way to a 25-23 finish, thanks in part to the Trojans' 8 service errors.

As both teams began to battle out the second set, neither team took momentum to gain a lead keeping their scores tight, until the Kodiaks slowly snuck ahead achieving a 9-point lead. Kodiaks #9 Adam Revet had 2 kills one of which was a monster hit, far above any of the SAIT blockers. The set came to an end with a score of 25-17 for the Kodiaks.

The score stayed tight at the beginning of the third set; nevertheless, the Kodiaks maintained their lead. Kodiaks took control of the game making it difficult for the Trojans to make a comeback. Kodiaks outside, Michael Kindley, made his presence known in the third set as he received 4 kills and an ace for his team, helping his team close out the game with a score of 25-18.
