MVB| Kodiaks Stay Ahead of The Clippers After Tight Matchup Taking the 1st Match of the Weekend 3-1

The Kodiaks looked to hold their spot in the south division as the Briercrest Clippers made the journey west to try and jump ahead in their 1st of 2 matchups in their final weekend before Christmas break.

Both the Kodiaks and Clippers got off on the same foot to start the match keeping things tight on the scoreboard throughout. Kodiaks Powerhouse #14 Nolan Moes made his presence known right from the start picking up 3 kills in the set to get the Kodiaks in front and steal the 1st set after a late push from the Clippers 25-23.

The Kodiaks and Clippers continued to keep things tight on the scoreboard with the scores staying within a few points right from start to finish with the Kodiaks holding the edge over Briercrest as they took the 2nd set by a slim 26-24 putting them up 2 sets to 0

The Clippers caught the Kodiaks off guard starting the 3rd getting a strong early lead and leaving the Kodiaks chasing them trying to get back in the set. Clippers #11 Karym Coleman led the charge for Briercrest earning 6 kills to keep the Clippers ahead to push the match to a 4th set taking the 3rd 25-18.

The Kodiaks found their groove once again as they made their way through the 4th set bringing the game right down to the wire as the Clippers would not back down. The Kodiaks were able to capitalize on key opportunities which led to more points on the scoreboard keeping them in front of Briercrest which would be enough to secure the 4th and final set of the game to take the final set 25-21 and the match 3-1.
