Men's Volleyball Huskies top Ooks in straight sets

The Keyano Huskies Men's Volleyball team headed into the holiday break on an upswing, defeating the NAIT Ooks in straight sets (25-18, 25-19, 30-28) Saturday at the Syncrude Sport and Wellness Centre in Fort McMurray, Alta. 

Radek Brzozowski led the Huskies with nine kills while Joao Cunha had eight and the duo of Carter Bragg and Trey Weinmeier each had seven.

The Ooks gave the Huskies all they could handle throughout the three-set match, pushing the game into a tug-of-war at the end 

"I think that's a really big confidence booster going into the start of next year," Preston Yole said. "NAIT's a really good team, top of the ACAC North, so it's good to go out and beat them in three."

Nikola Sreckovic continued his ascent of the ACAC assists charts with 23 assists, moving him within 16 of 1,500 for his ACAC career. 

For the Ooks, Shae McIntyre had nine kills to lead his side. Jarod Robert had seven to complement the team's offensive attack. Karter Godin picked up 10 assists in the match while Jared Krogen had a team-leading 11 digs. 

Yole earned Player of the Game honours for the Huskies while Robert earned the honours for the visiting Ooks.
