MVB | Kodiaks sweep the Thunder
November 12, 2022- The Lethbridge College Kodiaks came out with something to prove on Saturday afternoon, after facing their first loss of the season against the TKU Eagles on Friday night in a back and forth 5 set battle.
Both teams came out of the gates swinging, with a tough fought first set between the team's heavy hitters. Points seemed to go back and forth all set as the teams battled for the first set win. #14 Nolan Moes was the star of the first, with 4 of the Kodiaks 10 kills, not to mention his commanding presence on the court.
Kodiaks ramped it up going into the second set, upping the kill count to 13 and securing 3 service aces and two blocks as well. #9, Adam Revet was the standout of this set, with 3 kills, 2 service aces, and a block; showing off his athleticism and strength on the court. The Kodiaks also had #2, Michael Kindley to thank, with 4 clutch digs to hold off the prowess of the Thunder's offence.
The Kodiaks were dominant again in the third set, easily securing their sweep victory over the Thunder with a smooth 10 kills and 3 service aces. The Kodiaks didn't miss a beat, even with taking their opportunity to sub out their starting line and try new combinations on the court. They remained on top of the Thunder at every turn, with a great team performance as a bounceback game from their Friday loss.
