The Wolves hosted the NAIT Ooks

The GPRC Wolves hosted the NAIT Ooks for their first home game of 2022.

To start the game both teams exchanged missed serves. The Wolves jumped ahead by 6 and the Ooks called a time out. Ooks battled back and came within 3 before the Wolves won the set 25:20.

NAIT rebounded in the 2nd set to get on top 7:2. Coach Sam Tu'ivai calls a timeout. The Wolves get fired up out of the timeout and come within 3. Big block from #9 Tom Wheeler helps close the gap. The Ooks kept the pressure on and gained another 6 point lead. GPRC called a time out. NAIT will take the set 25:17. Game is tied at 1:1.

3rd set starts with a Wolves point. NAIT answers back with a couple to tie the game at 2. Both team exchange points to 6. Tom Wheeler's net serve puts the Ooks back up by 1. The Ooks pull ahead by 5 before coach Sam Tu'ivai calls a timeout. Ooks score a couple more, before another timeout is called. Wolves come out of the timeout looking for some points. They score a few, and come within 5, before a NAIT timeout. Big block by #3 Tristan Moon puts the Wolves within 4. #3 scores another big block to put the score at 17:21. Set will end 25:19 for the Ooks. Ooks up 2:1.

Ooks will take the first 2 points of the set. Wolves answer with 2. A few more points exchanged on each side of the net, set tied at 6. Ooks score 3 in a row, score 10:7. Wolves answer back with some big kills to tie the set at 13. Both teams exchange points until the Ooks are victorious and win 25:21 and take the game 3:1.

Player of the Game for the Nait Ooks was #15 Shae McIntyre and for the GPRC Wolves #10 Josh Dumont. Both teams are back in action tomorrow at 1pm. Check out ACAC TV to see the game coverage.
