Clippers clean up competition

CARONPORT, SK- The Clippers and the Lions played each other Saturday, January 18 in the afternoon, the outcome was a Briercrest win in four sets.

 

Starting the first set, Briercrest and Ambrose were neck and neck tying the game midway through at 15-15. This continued throughout the set, but despite the efforts from the Lions, Briercrest took the set 25-22.  

 

In the second set, similar to the first set, Ambrose and Briercrest were again neck and neck the whole set taking it to 23-23. But unlike the first set Ambrose pulled ahead, stealing the set 23-25.

 

In the third set, both teams attempted to push ahead, the score coming to 15-13 for the Clippers. However, the Clippers gained momentum and finished up the set at 25-15.  

 

In the fourth set, Clippers continued gaining their momentum, leading 15-8. Not much changed for the Clippers making for a Briercrest win at 25-14 to end the match. The scores in the sets were 25-22, 23-25, 25-15 and 25-14.

 

Player of the game for the Clippers was #15 Bryton Codd attaining.4 aces, 8 digs and 21 kills. And for the Lions #9 Jared Vander-Zwagg with 3 aces, 29 assists and 3 kills.
