Eagles lose home opener versus Ruslters

The King's University Eagles are looking to avenge their loss to the Lakeland Rustlers in their home opener tonight. The Rustlers beat the Eagles 3-1 in their match last night. The Eagles are coming into this season with the some new faces and a new head coach, looking to improve from last year. 

In the first set, the Eagles come out hot earning themselves the early lead, but the Rustlers were able to battle back as they kept the set close. The Rustlers got on a roll as they were able to build a substantial lead over the Eagles. But the Eagles did not quit as they battle back late in the set, frustrating the Rustlers to point of a yellow card. The Eagles efforts were for not, as the Rustlers were able to take the tight set 25-23.

In the second set, the Rustlers continued their momentum as they built up an early once again. But the Eagles, clawed their way back and were able to tie the set up. Both teams battled for each point, but the Rustlers showed their poise as they took the set 25-20, taking a 2 sets to 0 lead over the Eagles.

In the third set, Lakeland again started off strong opening up an early lead, but just like in the previous sets, the Eagles mounted their comeback. Both teams went point for point looking to gain an advantage over the other. The Rustlers continued to weather the storm and with their early lead, they were able to take the set 25-18, and take the match in straight sets. 

 

The Eagles end the weekend losing both their games to the Rustlers. TKU look to end their early slump as they play the University of Alberta - Augustana back at home October 25th, then again in Camrose October 26th.
