Jordan Schnitzer Honoured as 2017-18 ACAC Men’s Volleyball South Rookie of the Year

Medicine Hat, AB (February 21, 2018) – The Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) is pleased to announce Jordan Schnitzer of Briercrest College has been selected as the 2017-18 ACAC Men's Volleyball Rookie of the Year sponsored by Volleyball Alberta.

The 1st year outside hitter from Langley, British Columbia was able to step in and contribute immediately to Briercrest helping them to a playoff appearance, national ranking and 3rd place finish in the south division, Schnitzer finished the season with 157 kills, 50 total blocks to finish 10th in the league, 43 solo blocks good for 11th in the league, also finishing in the top 10 in blocks per set.

Jordan came to us as a highly sought-after recruit.  His physical talent is without question but his character and personality has been a great addition to our team.  He can do things on the court physically that can make you wonder what you just saw.  He is the type of player that coaches love working with.  A great student, a great teammate, and a great contributor to our team.

Schnitzer is in his first year studying business administration, from Langley British Columbia.

This prestigious award was presented to Jordan Schnitzer at the 2018 ACAC Men's Volleyball Championship Ceremony held on February 21, 2018 in Medicine Hat AB.
