MVB | Kodiaks take down Clippers

MVB | Kodiaks take down Clippers

Feb. 2, 2018 – It was a game they had to win, and though it wasn't easy, the Kodiaks got it done.

After nearly letting big leads slip away in sets one and two, the Kodiaks were able to secure a huge straight-sets win over a streaking Briercrest Clippers club that had won 12 of their last 14 matches.

Sets one and two followed exactly the same script. The Kodiaks would roar out to an early lead, only to see the Clippers chip away and tie the set late. Lethbridge was able to recover both times, however, and secure huge wins.

The Kodiaks didn't give the Clippers a chance in the third set, taking a commanding 25-14  win to close the match.

Michael Hummel was named the Kodiaks player of the game after eight emphatic kills, seven digs and two blocks.

Zach Wikenheiser had a tremendous game as setter for Lethbridge, making manu smart decisions while tallying 35 assists and six kills. Carter Hansen had 16 kills to lead the team, along with nine digs.

Taylor Klassen had 13 kills and eight digs for the Clippers, while Dalon Hordyk had 14 digs. Levi Olson also had a strong game with seven kills and nine digs.

The teams will be back in action at 3 p.m. tomorrow to close out their season series.
