Thunder starts with advantage, but Voyageurs came back fighting

EDMONTON, AB (October 22nd, 2022) – The Concordia University of Edmonton (CUE) welcomed the Portage Voyageurs to the pitch for their final home game of the season.

Today's game was packed with back-and-forth action. Very fast-paced with consistent crossing passes coming from both teams. The game was also quite physical resulting in several cards and left players on both sides shaken up. Concordia had the advantage early and continued to apply pressure. Jayden Munguia put Thunder on the board ten minutes into the game, and #22 Loukmanou Larwanou scored back-to-back goals to follow, with several other close chances. Voyageurs #11 Garrison Wiebe took advantage of an opportunity, and it paid off, making it 3-1 at the half. In the second, Portage came back with fury. They pushed back offensively and woke Thunder up. #10 Tata Mugisha scored in the 61st minute, and #9 Michael Musanza evened things out leading to the final score resulting in a tie.

Fans were highly energized throughout and pushed through an incredibly cold afternoon here in Edmonton. Thank you, Thunder fans, for your dedication, enthusiasm, and support.
