Ooks Conquer the Thunder 6-0

The NAIT Ooks men's soccer team kicked off against the Concordia Thunder at the St. Albert Soccer Association on Sunday afternoon. The NAIT Ooks won 6-0 over the Concordia Thunder.

The NAIT Ooks Forward, Matt Zima, is on his way to breaking the ACAC overall men's scoring record. The record was set in 1989 by former NAIT Ooks player and Coach Charles O'Toole. The record is 53, and Zima is currently at 49 ACAC goals.

It was an exciting game right off the bat. The Thunder defence was strong, hoping to keep out the NAIT Ooks offence. The NAIT Ooks finally broke through halfway through the first half with a great goal by Isaac Ayolade. All eyes were on Zima as he tried to add another goal to his name, but the Thunder defence stood strong.

It was 1-0 after the first half.

The second half started strong as the NAIT Ooks forwards were on a roll. Their second goal, scored by Rodolfo Aguilar-Longo, happened early, giving the Ooks a 2-0 lead. They kept up the momentum, and a few minutes later, Matt Zima finally broke through and scored his 50th ACAC goal.

The Ooks were strong, forcing the Thunder to play a strong defensive game. Zima once again hit it home, adding another goal to his record and giving his team a 4-0 lead. NAIT Ooks' Gabriel Queiroz was able to put one home, giving the Ooks a 5-0 lead.

NAIT Ooks' Cristian Lima scored the game's final goal, giving his team a 6-0 win against the Concordia Thunder.

The players of the game were number ten, Cristian Lima from the NAIT Ooks and number seventeen, Luke Drapla from the Concordia Thunder.
