Trojans move forward after beating Rattlers

CALGARY, ALTA., (Oct. 17, 2021) - The SAIT Trojans men's soccer team are on to the Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) South Division final.

SAIT received goals from Nico Gonzalez, Eduardo Filho, Matteo Zanin, Tysen Chatani and Senay Haile, as they beat the visiting Medicine Hat College Rattlers 5-1 in their semifinal matchup played Sunday afternoon at Cohos Commons Field.

Gonzalez didn't wait long to put his team on the board, scoring in the 13th minute of the game. Filho doubled the lead in the 26th minute before Zanin put away his own rebound in the 35th minute to give SAIT a 3-0 lead at half.

Chatani scored on a penalty kick in the 54th minute before Haile added one late to round out SAIT's scoring.

Arlind Musliu scored in the 90th minute for Medicine Hat to ruin SAIT's bid for a shutout.

Bernardo Cruz and Paul Wasylyk were named Players of the Game for SAIT and Medicine Hat College, respectively.
