CALGARY, ALTA. (Oct. 3, 2021) - A goal 12 minutes in was all SAIT needed Sunday afternoon.
The early marker by Matteo Zanin stood up as the game-winner, as his Trojans men's soccer team beat the Medicine Hat College Rattlers 2-0 in Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) action played at SAIT's Cohos Commons Field.
The win moves SAIT's record to a perfect 4-0 on the season, placing them atop the league's South Division. Medicine Hat College falls to 2-3 with the loss.
The home side added an insurance marker in the 70th minute when Eduardo Filho scored on Rattlers keeper Wilder Ross. Ross was a standout for the visiting side on Sunday, turning away multiple scoring chances by the Trojans.
Filho and Ross earned Player of the Game honours for their teams.
SAIT returns to the pitch this coming Friday afternoon when they take on the host Red Deer Polytechnic Kings.
