Sebastian Cabrera Honoured as 2015-16 ACAC Men’s Soccer Rookie of the Year
The Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference is pleased to announce that Sebastian Cabrera of NAIT Men's Soccer has been selected as the 2015-16 ACAC Men's Soccer Rookie of the Year.
Sebastian Cabrera is a talented and skillful player who has accomplished so much in such a short period of time. Sebastian started playing soccer at the tender age of 5. His skills soon were apparent and they really began to develop when he joined Juventus 95's. With this club he won a U-14 National Club Championship and two years later won a gold medal at Western Canada Games with the U-16 Provincial team.
Sebastian's talent got him into the NTC program which led him to the Residency program with the Vancouver Whitecaps which further developed this young man. He has played at extremely high levels and has had a few call ups with the National team. Earlier this year he was on Tryout with FC Edmonton and was one of their last cuts. Sebastian has turned his focus back on school and NAIT is fortunate to have a player of his caliber as part of its roster. Congratulations to Sebastian and we wish him well on his future endeavours in both school and soccer.
