The hometown Lethbridge College Kodiaks were favoured coming into a matchup with the UAA Vikings, but the Kodiaks had to overcome some early nerves before claiming an 8-3 victory. Muaz Omar and Deme Ibrahima scored minutes apart late in the first half to give the Vikings a 3-2 lead at the break. However, the Kodiaks broke it open in the second half, scoring five times in the first 15 minutes to secure a lead they would never surrender. Wilson Ntignee scored four times, while Ben Knight and Jimmy Bukuru each added a pair. The Kodiaks record goes to 1-0, while the Vikings are 0-1.
