CALGARY, ALTA., (Jan. 29, 2022) - In a contest that featured 10 goals and 97 shots, the SAIT Trojans came out on the losing end.
The Trojans hosted their longtime rivals, the NAIT Ooks, on Saturday night and fell 6-4 in their Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) game played inside SAIT Arena.
SAIT falls to 4-2-0-1 while NAIT improves to a perfect 7-0.
The majority of action came in the second period, when the teams combined for six goals to finish the frame tied at 4-4.
NAIT went ahead less than two minutes into the final period and never looked back - scoring an insurance marker later in the period to seal the win.
Jared Legien scored a hat trick for NAIT to be named Player of the Game for the visitors. Dalton Hamaliuk, Colby Livingstone and Nicholas Leyer also talied for NAIT.
Mark Drohan, Zachary Huber, Braydon Jenkins and Dylan Williamson replied for SAIT, who fired 58 shots on net.
SAIT's Player of the Game honours went to Rock Ruschkowski, who recorded three assists in the loss.
