The NAIT Ooks hosted the Briercrest Clippers Friday night in one of the last few matchups before the Christmas break. It was a good game, but ultimately NAIT came out on top, winning 6-2.
Briercrest got the momentum going with some shots on their power play early in the game, but Ooks goalie Jordan Papirny shut the door on them.
NAIT then had a one-man rush by Bjorn Robinson, who was stopped, but Eric Lacombe was there to pick up the loose puck and tuck it home for the game's first goal. Precisely one minute later, 18 added to the lead by scoring the second goal of the game.
2-0 NAIT after one.
NAIT continued their momentum going into the end of the first with a quick goal sixty-four seconds in by Bryce Osepchuk. NAIT added to their lead again with their fourth unanswered goal of the game coming on a power play by Colby Livingstone.
4-0 NAIT after two.
Jordan Papirny came out of his net to play the puck, but NAIT couldn't get the puck out. Later in the shift, Zach Thususka scored for the Clippers. NAIT added two more of their own goals coming from Jared Legien and Shane Fraser to put the lead back up to five. Briercrest added one more late one from Caleb Polman.
6-2 NAIT final score.

Both teams look forward to the next meeting and a strong rest of the year.
