Thunder clinch playoff spot by defeating Clippers 7-1

EDMONTON AB – In tonight's match up the Concordia University of Edmonton (CUE) Thunder played host to the visiting Briercrest Clippers. The Thunder walked away with the win and clinched a playoff spot. Tomorrow they will face off against the Clippers once again to complete the 2019/2020 regular season. The Thunder defeated the Clippers by a score of 7-1.

The first period was a back and forth affair, both teams had their fair share of chances, but the goalies shut the door and the first period ended 0-0. The second period the Thunder skated out, ready to take care of business. The Thunder managed to send 4 past the visiting goalie to take a substantial lead going into the final frame of the game. The Thunder carried their momentum into the 3rd period and lit the lamp 3 more times before the end of the game.

The big Kahuna Player of the Game for the visiting Clippers was #18 Josh Boelema and for the Thunder #23 Rory Davidson. Stay tuned for tomorrows afternoon rematch where the Thunder will once again host the Clippers.
