Vikings tough loss against the Kings

Augustana Vikings face off against RDC Kings. Despite the cold, both teams came out ready to play. RDC brought their A game, and Vikings were not able to recover. 

 

The teams fought long and hard, with great plays from both ends. The score at the end of the first period was 0-0.

 

Kings #4 Mappin scores the first goal of the game with assists from Kings #22 Pastachak and Kings #59 Salaway. Shortly after that, still within the second period, RDC scores another goal on a powerplay from #22 Pastachak with an assist from #59 Salaway. 

 

The Head Coach Gusdal gave the Vikings a pep talk during the intermissions that fired them up. The fans were on the edge of the seats with shot after shot from both teams. Vikings although unable to score, did not let the Kings get anymore goals in for the period. The score was 2-0 for the Kings at the end of the 2nd. 

 

The RDC Kings #28 Costello scored their 3rd goal in the 3rd period. Costello was assisted by #22 Pastachak and #4 Mappin. Kings #8 Wolski got an unassisted goal bringing his team up to a total score of 4. The final goal of the game was scored by Kings #19 Smith with an assist from both #91 Lapointe, and #9 Wozney. Both teams demonstrated great skill for the duration of the game. The final score ended as 5-0 with RDC Kings taking the win. 

 

Kings #1 Alaouf, and Vikings #31 Skip played great games earning exceptional shot to save stat percentage. 

 

The Player of the Game was awarded to #22 Pastachak for Kings, and #17 Osczevski for Vikings.
