EDMONTON, Alta. - Tanner Younghans scored twice as the NAIT Ooks men's hockey team defeated the Red Deer College Kings 4-1 on Thursday night in the NAIT Arena.
NAIT Ooks captain Colton Waltz scored halfway through the opening frame to put the Ooks up 1-0 in the first period. Mathieu Lapointe tied the game for the Kings on the power play 5:34 into the second period. Both teams got 13 shots on net in the evenly matched middle frame. Tanner Younghans would eventually score a shorthanded goal in the dying minutes to put NAIT up 2-1 at intermission. Younghans and Jake Mykitiuk both scored in the third to solidify the 4-1 win for the Ooks.
