Payton Lee Honoured as 2017-18 ACAC Men's Hockey Rookie of the Year

EDMONTON, AB (March 16, 2018) – The Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) is pleased to announce Payton Lee of the SAIT Trojans has been selected as the 2017-18 ACAC Men's Hockey Rookie of the Year sponsored by CCM Reebok.

Lee, a goaltender, had a successful first year in the ACAC, leading the league in starts, wins and minutes played, as his Trojans recorded an 18-6-3-1 record to finish fourth in the standings.

"Payton stepped in this season and immediately showed why he was one of head coach Dan Olsen's most sought-after recruits in the off-season," says Wade Kolmel, SAIT Athletics and Recreation Director. "We are looking forward to seeing him grow as a student athlete at SAIT."

The Cranbrook, BC product is currently enrolled in SAIT's Academic Program.

This prestigious award was presented to Payton Lee prior to Game 1 of the 2018 ACAC Men's Hockey Championship on March 16 at NAIT.
